Guanajuato

State of Guanajuato

Much of the state’s robust growth is thanks to its strong manufacturing sector, with an especially strong automobile industry.

Metals, leather goods and processed foods also make up a significant portion of the state’s GDP, and Guanajuato is also one of Mexico’s top tourism draws.

What to Do

Guanajuato was built over a maze of subterranean tunnels, but above ground it has one of the most picturesque and colorful displays of architecture in the world. Consider booking during the yearly October Cervantino Festival, Latin America’s most important arts festival.

Coming Up: The 120-room Staybridge Suites Silao has broken ground in the Guanajuato Inland Port next to the Del Bajío International airport and is slated to open in late 2017.
